A HISTORIC LEGACY CENTER DESIGNED TO PRESERVE, CULTIVATE AND PROTECT THE CULTURE AND FUTURE OF ALGIERS

For years, the Historic site of Algiers' 1st African American School have been fenced, shuttered and dormant. The former site of McDonogh 32 Elementary and recently McDonogh 32 Literacy Charter School was built in1904 as part of the John McDonogh Fund. The land was part of the original "King's Plantation."
After years of serving it's sole purpose as an Educational Facility and navigating the City of New Orleans new Public Charter School Network, McDonogh 32 is being repurposed as a catalyst and Hub for the future of Algiers: historically, academically and economically.
With History as it's foundation, a group of Algiers native's have embarked upon revitalizing the 100,000 sqft land and building space to something neighborhood worthy and aesthetically pleasing.
Join us for Revival as we turn a recent eyesore into a Local Favorite and Nationally Recognized Place of Significance.
